Riftbound: Radiance has several products to choose from, and they are aimed at different types of players and collectors. A Booster Display is built around opening packs, the Showdown Decks let two people play straight away, the Vault combines packs with storage, and a Pre-Rift Kit is designed for an organised event.[2]

If you are unsure what to buy, start with the way you want to use it:

  • Want to play with a friend? Start with the Showdown Decks.
  • Want to open lots of packs? Choose a Booster Display.
  • Want a smaller collection product? Look at the Vault.
  • Going to a Pre-Rift? You need the event kit.

Radiance Booster Display

A Radiance Booster Display contains 24 booster packs, with 14 cards in each pack. Riot's published pack layout includes Commons, Uncommons, a foil slot, a Rare or Epic slot, a higher-rarity slot and a Token, Rune or Alt Art Rune slot.[1][3]

This is the product I would choose if I wanted to open a large number of Radiance packs or collect across the set. It gives you the broadest opening experience in one product, but it does not give you a ready-to-play deck.

The important thing to remember is that opening packs is random. Riot states that an Ultimate Rare is not guaranteed in any individual pack, display or case. Published appearance figures are averages across the print run, not promises about a particular box.[1]

Evelynn vs Seraphine Showdown Decks

The Showdown Decks are the clearest starting point if you want to play with another person. The product includes two 56-card preconstructed decks, two paper playmats, two Radiance booster packs, a rulebook and deck boxes.[5]

The two decks are built around Evelynn and Seraphine. Because both decks are ready to play, you do not need to begin by building a deck from random cards. That makes this the simplest product for a new player, a parent buying a gift or two friends learning together.

The included booster packs give you a small introduction to opening Radiance products, but the main reason to choose this product is the two playable decks.

Radiance Vault

The Radiance Vault sits between a small pack purchase and a full Booster Display. It contains six Radiance booster packs, a storage box, foil tokens and a full set of 36 Runes.[1]

I would look at the Vault if you want a gift that feels more substantial than a couple of loose packs. It also makes sense for a newer player who wants some packs and basic game materials in one box.

The Vault is not a substitute for the Showdown Decks if your main goal is to play immediately. It gives you useful components, but it does not provide two complete preconstructed decks.

Radiance Pre-Rift Kits

Pre-Rift Kits are made for Radiance Pre-Rift events. The official kit includes five Radiance booster packs, a seeded Champion pack themed around one of the new Legends and a Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor promo card.[1][4]

The seeded pack helps you build a sealed deck around a particular Legend. That makes the kit different from the normal retail products. You are buying into an event experience as well as receiving cards to use during the event.

If you are attending a Pre-Rift, check the event details with the organiser before buying anything. The organiser will explain what is provided and how the sealed deckbuilding part works.

Which Radiance product should you choose?

What you want to do Best product
Play with a friend immediately Showdown Decks
Open the largest number of Radiance packs Booster Display
Buy a gift with packs and storage Vault
Attend a Pre-Rift event Pre-Rift Kit
Find one particular card Individual card or carefully chosen sealed product

If you want one specific card, buying that card individually is usually more predictable than opening products until you find it. If you enjoy the opening experience, a Booster Display can still be the more enjoyable choice.

My simple buying advice

For a first Riftbound purchase, I would choose the Showdown Decks if there are two people ready to play. You get a complete experience without needing to understand the entire card pool first.

For collecting or opening packs, I would choose the Booster Display. It is the clearest product for seeing a wide range of Radiance cards in one opening.

For a gift, the Vault is a good middle ground. It has packs, storage and Runes, so it feels like a collection product rather than just a single pack.

For a Pre-Rift event, choose the kit provided or specified by the event organiser. It is built around the sealed format and should not be confused with the normal Showdown or Vault products.[4]

Before you order

Start with the Active TCG Riftbound collection to compare the Radiance formats.[6] I would look at three things before ordering:

  • The product language and contents
  • The stated release or dispatch date
  • The current price, delivery terms and product quantity

The right Radiance product depends less on finding one universal winner and more on knowing what you want to do with it. Showdown Decks are for playing, Booster Displays are for opening, the Vault is for a smaller collection and Pre-Rift Kits are for events.
